About the movie:
HISPANOAMERICA, A Song of Life & Hope is the new documentary film directed by renowned filmmaker José Luis López-Linares, three-time Goya Award winner. This project offers a renewed, truthful and visually powerful vision of how Spanish America was born and developed. Launched in November 2022, it has been filmed in Ecuador, Spain, Peru, Bolivia, Mexico and the United States.
Synopsis:
Hispanoamerica offers a fresh, truthful and visually powerful look at how Spanish America was born and really developed. Launched in November 2022, it has been filmed in Ecuador, Spain, Peru, Bolivia, Mexico and the United States.
Featuring interviews with numerous historians and various experts in the field, mainly American, the film will show a new history shared over more than 300 years through the visual splendor of the architectural, pictorial, sculptural and musical heritage of the time, still in force today.
About the director:
Considered one of the greatest exponents of Spanish documentary filmmaking, Jose Luis López-Linares has an extensive filmography that has won three Goya Awards, the Ondas Award and an Emmy Award nomination.
His films - among which stand out “Asaltar los cielos”, “Un instante en la vida ajena”, “El Bosco. El Jardín de los sueños” and ‘Goya, el ojo que escucha’ - have participated in festivals around the world; Cannes, Berlin, Toronto, Venice, San Sebastian, Guadalajara, Tokyo or Tribeca.
In addition, as director of photography, he has worked with renowned filmmakers such as Carlos Saura, Víctor Erice and Alain Tanner.
