Hispanoamérica is a documentary film that offers a fresh, truthful and visually powerful look at how Spanish America was really born and developed.
The project began in November 2022, it has been filmed in Ecuador, Spain, Peru, Bolivia, Mexico, and USA. Powered by our distributor, BOSCO FILMS, the film was released in Spain on April 12, 2024 in more than 30 cities and 60 theaters. The next step is to bring it to theaters throughout the Americas.. It is imperative that this film be broadcast on both sides of the Atlantic.
Featuring interviews with numerous historians and various experts in the field, mainly American, the film will show a new history shared over more than 300 years through the visual splendor of the architectural, pictorial, sculptural and musical heritage of the time, still in force today.

About the director:
Considered one of the greatest exponents of Spanish documentary filmmaking, Jose Luiz López-Linares has an extensive filmography that has won three Goya Awards, the Ondas Award and an Emmy Award nomination.
His films - among which stand out “Asaltar los cielos”, “Un instante en la vida ajena”, “El Bosco. El Jardín de los sueños” and ‘Goya, el ojo que escucha’ - have participated in festivals around the world; Cannes, Berlin, Toronto, Venice, San Sebastian, Guadalajara, Tokyo or Tribeca.
In addition, as director of photography, he has worked with renowned filmmakers such as Carlos Saura, Víctor Erice and Alain Tanner.
Spain, the first globalization
His latest film, “Spain, the first globalization”, has been the most watched documentary film of 2021 with more than 70,000 viewers in theaters; and more than 1,000,000 on television.
The documentary was approved as educational material for the subject of History in the schools of Madrid with a didactic guide for the teacher elaborated by Elvira Roca Barea.
Plaza y Janés has published a book based on the film of which more than 10,000 copies have been printed.
In May 2022, he received the Silver Medal of the Community of Madrid.
